Linda: Grandma! Are you ready for your big speech tonight?

Grandma: I think so, dear. But to be honest, I’m a little terrified of standing in front of everyone.

Linda: You? The woman who led the entire neighborhood committee for ten years?

Grandma: That was different. I knew what I was doing back then. Now, I’m not even sure of what to say. I’m worried about forgetting my lines.

Linda: You’ll be fine. And if you forget anything, just talk from the heart. Everyone here is sympathetic to your nerves.

Grandma: That’s kind of you. I just feel sad about your grandfather not being here. He would have loved this.

Linda: I know, Grandma. He’s still with us in spirit. And honestly, I think he would be amazed by how much the family has grown.

Grandma: He was always so attached to the kids. Remember how he used to make up bedtime stories?

Linda: Of course! I still remember the one about the absent-minded elephant who kept losing his keys.

Grandma: (laughs) Yes, that elephant was loosely based on your Uncle Peter. Always forgetful, that one.

Linda: (laughs) And allergic to everything under the sun.

Grandma: That’s right. I made him a special cake once, only to find out he was allergic to almonds.

Linda: It’s okay, Grandma. Mistakes happen. But tonight will be great. Your speech is so personal and suitable for all ages.

Grandma: I just hope I don’t say something wrong about the family history. You know how particular Aunt Joan is—she’s always suspicious of anything not properly fact-checked.

Linda: Don’t worry. If anyone says anything, I’ll back you up. Besides, your stories are what make these gatherings special.

Grandma: I’m thankful for your support. It means the world to me.
