Article 3: “Lessons from Abroad”
Living abroad isn’t just about traveling—it’s about learning. When Jorge moved to South Korea, he was not only amazed at the technology but also astonished by how different the education system was from Spain’s.
At first, he felt like an outsider. He was ashamed of not speaking the language and anxious about making mistakes. He became very critical of himself. But over time, he got accustomed to the new pace of life.
He realized he had been blind to how hard it is for immigrants back home. “Now I’m more concerned with inclusion and fairness,” Jorge reflects. He’s even become engaged in policy discussions online.
Jorge is content with his choice. He’s proud of his journey, even if it wasn’t easy. “This experience has been essential to who I am today,” he says. “I’m confident in my ability to adapt.”
