Dialogue 1: A Sudden Visitor

Anna: Did you hear someone at the door?

Mark: Yeah, someone just turned up unexpectedly. I wasn’t expecting anyone today.

Anna: Should we open it? Maybe it’s the neighbor again asking for help with the Wi-Fi.

Mark: No, it’s Sam! He said he was in the area and decided to come along to see us.

Anna: Wow, I haven’t seen Sam in ages. Did he call before?

Mark: Nope. He just showed up. Said he didn’t want to interrupt but figured if we were out, he’d leave a note.

Anna: That’s nice of him. I guess it’s good we were up to nothing much today. Let’s invite him in.

Mark: Definitely. And let’s point out the new artwork in the living room—he’s always into that kind of thing.

Anna: For sure! Oh, and remind me to turn over the cushions. One of them got ketchup on it last night.

Mark: Good thinking. Let’s make the place look presentable before he walks in.
