  1. Pick up – to collect or lift something

    • Example: Can you pick up some groceries on your way home?

  2. Go on – to continue happening

    • Example: The meeting will go on until 5 p.m.

  3. Get out – to leave a place

    • Example: He told me to get out of his car.

  4. Go back – to return to a place

    • Example: I forgot my phone, so I had to go back home.

  5. Come on – used to encourage or persuade someone

    • Example: Come on, let’s go! We’re going to be late!

  6. Come back – to return to a place

    • Example: She will come back from vacation next week.

  7. Sit down – to take a seat

    • Example: Please sit down and make yourself comfortable.

  8. Come out – to appear or become available

    • Example: A new movie is coming out this Friday.

  9. Come in – to enter a place

    • Example: Come in and have a cup of tea.

  10. Look for – to try to find something

    • Example: I am looking for my keys. Have you seen them?

  11. Get up – to rise from bed or a sitting position

    • Example: I usually get up at 6 a.m. on weekdays.

  12. Come up – to happen unexpectedly

    • Example: Something important came up, so I couldn’t attend the meeting.

  13. Look down – to regard someone or something as inferior

    • Example: He always looks down on people who don’t have a college degree.

  14. Go out – to leave home for social activities

    • Example: We usually go out for dinner on Saturdays.

  15. Take off – to remove clothing or for a plane to leave the ground

    • Example: He took off his jacket because it was too warm inside.
