Dialogue 3: Policy Discussion at a Government Meeting
Minister: We’ve received an international invitation to the Global Economic Summit next month. It’s a good chance to share our approach to investment policies.
Advisor: Absolutely. But we should also prepare a report on our recent reforms. Transparency will strengthen our reputation.
Minister: Yes, though there’s still a lack of public trust. The effect of past scandals hasn’t completely disappeared.
Advisor: That’s true. The public’s attitude towards the government has improved slightly, but criticism continues. We must address the problem of corruption directly.
Minister: I agree. A stronger emphasis on ethical training for officials might help. We also need to improve citizens’ knowledge of their rights.
Advisor: Maybe introducing civic education in schools would be an effective solution to misinformation.
Minister: Good idea. And we should discuss the tax on foreign investments. Some see it as an attack on economic freedom, but others view it as a fair contribution to national development.
Advisor: There’s no perfect policy, but if our decision on these issues is balanced, we can maintain stability.
Minister: Exactly. Responsible leadership means weighing every advantage of reform against its disadvantage of risk. That’s the only answer to sustainable governance.
